Practicing Our Faith

Practicing Our Faith Cover Take a journey through The Book of Common Prayer, the Christian life, and basic beliefs of our faith in this 26-session curriculum. Practicing Our Faith walks us through the liturgical year, the sacraments of the church, habits of daily prayer, and the teachings of Anglican Christianity. See how our prayer shapes our belief and our lives and how our beliefs lead us into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Practicing Our Faith offers a survey of the basic beliefs and practices of The Episcopal Church. These beliefs and practices remind us that we are the inheritors of the immeasurable greatness of God’s power that transforms each of us and strengthens us to serve the world in Christ’s name. In practicing our faith, we learn how to live as disciples, not merely one day a week but every day of the week.

This seven-week curriculum is designed to help children build a foundational understanding of what it means to an Episcopalian—globally, locally, and personally. Designed for children ages 6-10, the program moves through the sacraments of the Episcopal Church, helping children to connect their daily lives to the story of God, the love of Christ, and the movement of the Holy Spirit in the world. The downloadable facilitator’s guide includes step-by-step teaching instructions as well as weekly handouts for the students.
